David Gibson has been actively involved in various professional roles of the art world for three decades. He has curated over 300 solo and group exhibitions and has been a member of Indpendent Curators International and The International Association of Art Critics. He has written for Zingmagazine, Performing Arts Journal, C magazine, Art Notes, Flash Art, and Frieze to name a few. He has developed a critical acuity between an understanding of theory and the real lives of professional working artists. Since 2021 he has published his email newsletter The Other Side of the Desk on Substack.
In 2025 he was re-awarded membership in AICA: The International Asssociation of Art Critics.
